Primavera P6 training for construction planners
On site across Australia or live over Microsoft Teams.
Nomad SPS teaches Primavera P6 to construction planners and project teams across Australia. Training is delivered by experienced planning managers with more than 15 years of hands-on project planning experience. The training covers the scheduling work a construction project needs: structuring the project, building logic, getting a reliable critical path, and updating progress against a baseline.
The training is practical and directly applicable to live projects. Sessions run live over Microsoft Teams or on site across Australia.

Who it's for
- Planners and schedulers on projects where the client or contract asks for a P6 programme.
- Planners moving from Microsoft Project to P6, who need to learn how P6 handles structure, calendars and scheduling differently.
- Project managers and project controls staff who review P6 programmes from contractors or subcontractors and need to know what to check.
What you'll learn
Topics typically covered include the scheduling work a construction programme needs in P6.
- EPS and WBS. Setting up the enterprise project structure and a work breakdown structure that matches how the project will be delivered and reported.
- Activities and relationships. Adding activities and milestones, and linking them with finish-to-start, start-to-start and finish-to-finish relationships, with lags where they are justified.
- Calendars. Global and project calendars, working hours, public holidays, RDOs and shutdowns.
- Scheduling and the critical path. Running the schedule, reading total float, and finding the critical path and the activities driving it.
- Resources and costs, where your project needs them. Assigning resources or costs to activities and reviewing loading.
- Baselines and progress updating. Setting a baseline, setting the data date, recording actual dates and remaining durations, and comparing the update against the baseline.
- Layouts and reporting. Building layouts, filters and groupings, and printing or exporting a programme the client can read.

Practical training for live projects
Training is delivered by experienced planning managers with more than 15 years of hands-on project planning experience in P6 and Microsoft Project. Nomad SPS planning and project controls work includes more than 700 MW of data centre capacity and over $2.1B in projects.
On data centre projects, the client and the builder both read the programme closely, and a wrong float value or a missing link gets found quickly. The training spends time on the checks a planner makes before issuing an update for that reason. The material is practical and directly applicable to live projects. For programme reviews, delay analysis support or ongoing reporting, see our project controls services.
